This program is In Memory of Singer / Bassist Carlene Ray. She died in July of 2013 at age 88. We met with her at Studio 952 in NYC in early 2010. Carlene tells about her rich career in Jazz .
. We start with her early work with the International Sweethearts of Rhythm, an all-female big band that existed from 1933-1955.
