This  program is In Memory of Singer / Bassist Carlene Ray. She died in July of 2013 at age 88. We met with her at Studio 952 in NYC in early 2010. Carlene tells about her rich career in Jazz .
. We start with her early work with the International Sweethearts of Rhythm, an all-female big band that existed from 1933-1955.

He stopped by the Jazz Room to talk about his book  “Dameronia” The Life and Music of Tadd Dameron”.  Now in San Diego CA , Paul was one of our long time Boston area musicians . We were very happy to have him on the show. In Part 1 Paul talks about how he came to write this Biography and gives us insights on how Tad Dameron  influenced  Jazz artists during the Bop Era.
